From an early age, it was apparent that Matthew Clark was an artist. Raised on a healthy diet of Saturday morning cartoons, old Walt Disney classics, illustrated books, and toys, he was inspired to create his own characters. Scribbling them in the books, on the walls and of course on any piece of paper he could get his hands on, it just became second nature for him to draw.

Matthew’s current style continues to be shaped and inspired by cartoons, books, and animated films, in addition to the other forms of art he has been involved in throughout the years, including graffiti, fine art, and graphic design. Nature and the animals that dwell within it, play a huge role in his characters and scenes as well. Finding the hard-edged graphic elements of nature and balancing it out with the antics of his crazy, and sometimes very odd characters, gives his artwork a lightness and a twisted humor that people can create their own story around.
